THE INGREDIENTS LIST:
THE BEEF AND BROCCOLI INGREDIENTS:
1 Pound.Of flank steak; sliced it into very bite-sized strips.
2 Tbsp.Of olive oil.
1 Pound.Of broccoli florets.
2 Tsp.Of sesame seeds.
FOR THE STIR-FRY SAUCE; I USED:
1 Tsp.Of grated fresh ginger.
2 Tsp.Of grated garlic.
1/2 Cup.Of hot water.
6 Tbsp.Of low sodium soy sauce.
3 Tbsp.Of packed light brown sugar.
1 1/2 Tbsp.Of corn starch.
1/4 Tsp.Of black pepper
2 Tbsp.Of sesame oil
PREPARATION:
1st Step:
Prepare white rice ahead of time so it’s ready when the stir fry is done cooking. To make the steak simpler to slice, cover it and freeze it for thirty minutes.
2nd Step:
Put all of the ingredients for the stir fry sauce in a bowl, give it a good mix to dissolve the sugar, and then put it to the side.
3rd Step:
Put a large pan on medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Add the broccoli florets and sauté them for four to five minutes while partly covering the skillet with a lid. During this time, turn or toss the broccoli several times until it is brilliant green and crisp tender.
4th Step:
If you like your broccoli on the softer side, add 2 tablespoons of water before closing the pan with the top to steam cook the broccoli.
5th Step:
Raise the temperature to high, then add 1 tablespoon of oil while it’s still hot. Sauté the beef for two minutes on each side, or just until it is fully cooked through, after adding it in a single layer. Immediately remove a sample to determine if the meat is done.
5th Step:
After adding the sauce, decrease the heat to medium or low and let it simmer for three to four minutes. It will get dense.
6th Step:
Add broccoli and stir to mix. If you want the sauce to be thinner, stir in one to two tablespoons of water. Place on a bed of white rice.
